2023 Domaine de Colonat Bon Appétit Morgon

Tasting Notes

A beautifully expressive and structured Gamay, showcasing the depth and complexity of this celebrated Beaujolais cru. In the glass, it displays a radiant ruby color with garnet reflections, hinting at its concentration and vibrancy. The nose is enticing and layered, with aromas of ripe black cherry, raspberry, and red plum, intertwined with floral notes of peony and subtle hints of earth, spice, and crushed stone. A delicate touch of vanilla and cocoa adds sophistication. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a velvety texture, supported by fine-grained tannins and a balanced acidity that provides freshness and lift. Flavors of juicy red and dark berries are complemented by nuances of licorice, black pepper, and a mineral backbone. The finish is long and elegant, leaving a lingering impression of ripe fruit and spice.
