2023 Domaine de Colonat Moulin-A-Vent Les Greneriers
Tasting Notes
A profound and sophisticated expression of Gamay, showcasing the power and elegance of this premier Beaujolais cru. In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby color with garnet undertones, hinting at its richness and depth. The nose is complex and enticing, with aromas of black cherry, wild blackberry, and ripe plum, intertwined with floral notes of violet and peony. Earthy nuances of truffle, crushed stone, and a touch of spice—clove and black pepper—enhance its aromatic profile, reflecting the unique character of the Les Greneriers vineyard. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied and structured, with firm yet refined tannins and a vibrant acidity that provides balance and freshness. Layers of dark fruit, licorice, and subtle oak are complemented by a distinct mineral backbone, delivering both power and precision. The finish is long and elegant, leaving an enduring impression of fruit, spice, and earthy complexity.
