2022 Domaine Duclaux Côte Rotie Maison Rouge
Tasting Notes
A powerful and refined Syrah, the 2022 Maison Rouge showcases one of Côte-Rôtie’s finest parcels. Deep ruby with violet glimmers, it offers a rich nose of blackcurrants, blueberries, and dark plums, accented by violets, black olive, graphite, and smoked meats. Hints of exotic spices, truffle, and toasted oak add depth. Full-bodied and structured, it features polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a dark fruit core with flavors of licorice, black pepper, and earthy minerality. The exceptionally long finish lingers with dark chocolate, spice, and smokiness. Approachable now with decanting, it promises even greater complexity over the next 15–20 years.
