At Linara Wines, we embarked on a mission to introduce the US to exceptional wines from boutique producers. My years abroad have allowed me the privilege of savoring wines that remain undiscovered in the States. In this venture, I was fortunate to collaborate with Katrina Van Gerpen, who has an impeccable palate and vast expertise. Our journey began in the renowned Champagne and Loire regions of France.

Our initial discovery led us to the historic 308-year-old Domaine de La Fontainerie, nestled in the Vouvray region of the Loire Valley. There, we met Catherine, the estate's custodian and vintner. Entranced by her Chenin Blanc’s which seem to refine with age, and her blend of vivacity, diligence, and unwavering dedication to excellence, we knew we'd found our inaugural import.

Venturing next to the Champagne region, a friend introduced us to Champagne Augustin, a 118-year-old family-run estate. What captivated us was the palpable passion embedded in every step of their winemaking—meticulous attention from vine to bottle, their commitment to biodynamics and organic practices, and the uniqueness of each vintage champagne sourced from niche plots, often of a singular variety. It was evident that Champagne Augustin’s cuvées deserved a spot in our curated collection. Feu (meaning Fire) is my favorite champagne in the World under $100.

Soon after, we loaded an entire container with selections from both estates, eagerly anticipating their transatlantic voyage to our shores. A vivid memory remains: on a crisp Tuesday morning, I was personally unloading these cherished pallets of wine by forklift into our temperature-controlled facility.

We've curated exceptional wines and, in partnership with an expanding network of distributors nationwide, we strive to share these gems with discerning enthusiasts like you. It’s not just about the wine—it's the heart and soul of the artisans behind them. As our distributor family grows, we invite inquiries for collaboration.
