Holocene, Beatus, and The Black Square
About Holocene, Beatus, and The Black Square
Holocene is an Oregon based luxury winery, focused on crafting small-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that showcase elegance, precision, and a deep connection to the terroir. Founded by acclaimed winemaker Todd Alexander (winemaker at Force Majeure and WeatherEye) and his amazing wife Carrie Alexander, Holocene sources fruit from top vineyards, resulting in wines that are vibrant, layered, and reflective of the Willamette Valley’s cool-climate character. The wines are celebrated for their balance, complexity, and purity, earning Holocene recognition as one of the region’s standout producers.
In addition to Holocene, Todd & Carrie lead other exceptional projects. Beatus, a collaboration in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with Château de la Font du Loup, creates an exquisite Grenache-based wine that celebrates the Southern Rhône’s storied terroir. The Black Square, a unique Cabernet Sauvignon expression from The Rocks District, offers one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon’s made. These ventures showcase Todd Alexander’s versatility and dedication to crafting extraordinary wines across diverse regions.
