2023 Domaine Colin Gris Bodin
Tasting Notes
A beautiful light pink color that only Pineau d’Aunis exhibits. Fresh and floral nose with hints of morello cherry. Round on the palate, this Rosé can hold up nicely with a variety of food or can be enjoyed on its own.
About Domaine Colin
Domaine Colin, located in the picturesque Coteaux du Vendômois region of the Loire Valley, is renowned for its exceptional wines and dedication to traditional winemaking techniques. The estate has been meticulously managed by the Colin family since 1900. The vineyards now span 70 acres, cultivated mostly of Pineau d'Aunis and Chenin Blanc. The unique terroir, characterized by flinty clay and limestone soils, combined with the region's temperate climate, provides ideal conditions for producing high-quality wines that reflect the distinctiveness of the area. The winery is particularly noted for its Pineau d'Aunis wines, a rare and ancient grape variety native to the region. Domaine Colin's Pineau d'Aunis wines are celebrated for their unique peppery and spicy notes, setting them apart from other Loire Valley wines.
Pineau d’Aunis grapes produce a lighter red wine more akin to Pinot Noir and Gamay. The Domaine produces red, rosé, and sparkling offerings of Pineau d’Aunis. The Colin family's commitment to sustainable viticulture practices and minimal intervention winemaking (organic and biodynamic) ensures that each bottle expresses the authentic character of the Coteaux du Vendômois.
