1993 Domaine de La Chevalerie Busardières

Tasting Notes

A mature and complex bouquet of dried cherries, black currants, and plum compote, accented by earthy notes of forest floor, truffle, and a touch of leather. On the palate, this wine is exceptionally smooth, with well-integrated tannins and a balanced acidity that add to its elegance and depth. Flavors of stewed black fruits, tobacco, and a hint of cedar unfold gracefully, leading to a long, lingering finish with a subtle, savory minerality.

About Domaine de La Chevalerie

Domaine de la Chevalerie, a renowned winery in Bourgueil, France, has been producing exceptional wines for 14 generations. This family-owned estate spans over 80 acres of prime vineyard land in the Loire Valley. The Caslot family, who have owned and operated the Domaine since 1640, practice organic and biodynamic viticulture. Their vineyards are planted with Cabernet Franc, the predominant grape variety in Bourgueil, and are known for their old vines, some of which are over 70 years old.

The wines of Domaine de la Chevalerie are renowned for their elegance, structure, and complexity. They offer a diverse range of cuvées, from lighter, fruit-forward expressions to robust, age-worthy selections. The Domaine's greatest asset lies in its exceptional and varied terroirs. By crafting wines from various lieux-dits (specific vineyard sites), each bottle beautifully showcases the distinct characteristics of its origin.
